At the first public information session on renewable energy megaprojects in Northeast Trás-os-Montes, held in Mogadouro with around 50 people present, Plataforma Nordeste Vivo confirmed that most residents did not know the real scale of the projects already built or approved. According to José Jambas, one of the movement's founders, the continuous stretch of solar panels already exceeds 1,500 hectares across the Planalto Mirandês.

In Miranda do Douro, the hybridization project promoted by Engie plans to install 35 wind turbines 200 metres tall, more than half the height of the Eiffel Tower. The developers' own environmental impact studies show that hundreds of hectares of farmland, including dryland crops, will go uncultivated for the 30-year lifespan of the projects.

Plataforma Nordeste Vivo said it would move forward with legal injunctions and new complaints to the Public Prosecutor's Office. The movement is not opposed to renewable energy itself, but argues that rooftops, industrial zones, parking lots and other existing infrastructure should be used first, before farmland and forest land.
