Cable Car and Adventure Park at Curral das Freiras

The cable car and adventure park project in Curral das Freiras, Câmara de Lobos, was approved despite being located in a known nesting area of Zino's petrel, one of the world's most endangered seabirds, endemic to Madeira.

Quercus-Madeira formally challenged the decision, warning that the environmental impact study fails to robustly rule out risk to the species, which is critically endangered.

The Ecologist Party, Os Verdes, with a structure in Madeira, reiterated to the regional ICNF its firm opposition to the project, asking for the licensing decision to be reviewed.
