Amara Village at Castelo de Bode

The Amara Village development plans a 50-hectare tourist resort on the shores of the Castelo de Bode reservoir, in Tomar, the country's second-largest freshwater reserve.

The licensing process moved forward with no Environmental Impact Assessment, despite the scale of the project and its location next to one of the main water supply reserves for the Centre region.

Local environmental associations and Quercus question the legality of the process, asking for it to be suspended until a full environmental assessment is carried out.
