Secil quarries in Arrábida Natural Park

Secil has operated limestone quarries within the boundaries of Arrábida Natural Park for decades, in an area classified as of high ecological and landscape value.

Seven environmental organizations, including LPN, formally demanded that the company present a decommissioning and landscape recovery plan for the areas already mined, with a defined timeline.

Secil has not publicly responded with a concrete timeline to date, and mining continues within the protected area.
